Clients moving from their own data centres to managed and co-lo environments appreciate the value this service offers as it allows some separation of the “business as usual” process update from the main application or hardware migration project.
It can be a daunting and difficult task to change established processes and working practices of technical staff when moving to a new facility. The move, to either a co-lo or a self-managed facility provides an opportunity to refresh, integrate, modify and reinforce the processes, policy and procedures that are required to operate the data centre and keep risks low.
We have also found many clients to have limited or insufficient Standard Operating Procedures governing the work and practices within the data centre and so too also find value in updated governance information which helps to control physical access, risk and uncontrolled change with the areas.
